Allahabad Bank The Oldest Joint Stock Bank of the Country, Allahabad Bank was founded on April 24, 1865 by a group of Europeans at Allahabad. At that juncture Organized Industry, Trade and Banking started taking shape in India. Thus, the History of the Bank spread over three Centuries - Nineteenth, Twentieth and Twenty-First.Its head-quarters in Kolkata. Currently the bank has 2500 branches across the country. The Chairman and Managing Director of the bank is Shri J. P. Dua. The bank has a branch in Hong Kongand a representative office in Shenzen.It is an Act to provide for setting out the practical regime of right to information for citizens to secure access to information under the control of Public authorities, in order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority. The Act extends to the whole of India except the state of Jammu & KashmirAllahabad Bank is a Public Authority, as per the definition of ‘Public Authority’, provided under the Act and is therefore under obligation to provide information to members of public while adhering to the various provisions of the Act.
